Meet Our Attorneys

Susan M. O'Malley

Ms. O'Malley was born on April 11, 1968 in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Her family moved to North Carolina in 1970. Ms. O'Malley graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She graduated from law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 with a Juris Doctor degree.

Ms. O'Malley is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and the District of Columbia. She is admitted to practice in Federal District Court and the 4th District Court of Appeals. She joined Keel Law Offices in January 1995. She became a partner in the firm in 1998 and Keel Law Offices became Keel O'Malley, L.L.P in 2001.

She has tried numerous Social Security and Workers' Compensation cases. She has spoken on Social Security at the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers' and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America's seminars. She has appealed and won social security disability cases in Federal District Court. This is a level to which few attorneys have taken their social security practice. She has argued before the North Carolina Supreme Court and has handled cases before the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. She has tried several personal injury cases before a jury in Superior Court.

Ms. O'Malley is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. As a member of NCATL she has been involved with the Disability Advocacy Section, as Education Chair, Vice Chair, and Chair. She is currently on the Board of Governor's for NCATL. She is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. As a member of ATLA's Disability Law Section, she has been a newsletter editor and Chair. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.
