About Our AttorneysMr. Jimmie K. Keel is a Tarboro, North Carolina native who has remained local throughout his education and career. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, with honors in economics (1974), Mr. Keel received a Masters in Business Administration from East Carolina University in 1977. Mr. Keel received his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in 1978.
Mr. Keel is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has represented clients before all trial and appellate divisions of the state courts as well as the Industrial Commission, Federal Courts and the Social Security Administration. His trial experience ranges from first degree murder to complex medical malpractice. Over the years, Mr. Keel's practice has evolved to concentrate on civil litigation and medical-legal related matters.

Ms. Susan M. O'Malley has been a North Carolina transplant since 1970. In 1995 she joined the firm, which was then called Keel Law Offices. Ms. O'Malley became a partner in 1998 and the firm became Keel O'Malley Tunstall, L.L.P. in 2001. She has successfully litigated numerous Social Security and Workers' Compensation cases. Ms. O'Malley has tried several personal injury cases before a jury in Superior Court, and is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.

Mr. Joseph P. Tunstall, III is another North Carolina native. He was born in Washington, NC in 1975 and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in 2000 and joined Keel O'Malley Tunstall, L.L.P. LLP in 2000. Mr. Tunstall has tried numerous Social Security and Workers' Compensation cases as well as personal injury cases before a jury. His practice areas include Personal Injury; Workers' Compensation; Social Security; Lemon Law and Traffic matters. Mr. Tunstall is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers.
