Nashville, North Carolina is a charming small town designated as the county seat of Nash County. This is a predominantly rural county situated as the gateway between North Carolina's Coastal Plains and Piedmont Region. Nash County and the town of Nashville are also within the rapidly growing Rocky Mount Metropolitan Area. Nashville houses many of the county’s municipal offices as well as the Nash-Rocky Mount School System Administrative offices.

Nashville’s population was recorded at 4,309 by the 2000 Census. This shows a growth rate of 121% in the last two decades. Nashville lies 10 miles from Rocky Mount’s city limits and is sure to experience increased growth as the thriving city expands.  The Carolinas Gateway Partnership is an industrial recruitment agency devoted to attracting new firms into the Nash and Edgecombe County areas.  Working with the State of North Carolina, the agency has numerous state and local tax incentives for incoming businesses. Grants, special training programs for the local work force, and Industrial Development Bond financing are all available.

American Food Resources, a cheese-processing corporation, opened its doors in Nashville in February 2005. Taking advantage of Nashville’s strategic location directly on US Highway 64 and five miles from Interstate 95, AFR brought 125 jobs to the town. Universal Leaf, a tobacco-processing firm, is relocating between Nashville and the town of Castalia, and will bring an additional 1,000 jobs to the region. These are just two of the exciting changes happening in Nashville, NC.

Nash County is a region of gently rolling hills. The soil is sandy and perfect for tobacco growing, along with peanuts, corn and cotton.  Nashville residents enjoy a moderate climate, with mild summer averages of 78 degrees and winter temperatures averaging 40 degrees.

Nashville proudly hosts the annual Blooming Festival in May. A celebration of springtime and of local talent, the festival showcases craft workers, musicians and down-home southern cooking. Displaying the strong family values of Nashville, a “Mother of The Year” is elected annually. Nashville is also home to the Nash County Arts Center. Located in an exquisitely refurbished 1914 Baptist church, the Center puts on a variety of concerts, theatrical performances, and exhibits by local artisans.
